Debora van der Zee

Debora has been with Unilever for 20 years and is responsible for Unilever’s Nutrition business in North Europe and leading the plant-based strategy & business across Europe. Before this role she was responsible for Unilever’s Nutrition business in the Benelux, including brands like Knorr, The Vegetarian Butcher, Unox and Calvé.

After graduating from Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam with a propedeuse in Technical Mathematics and a master’s degree in Econometrics, Debora joined Unilever as a marketing trainee in 2002. Debora has held a variety of local and international roles across the Foods category including Unilever Food Solutions. Between 2011 and 2015 Debora led the growth of Unilever’s Spreads business in Sub-Sahara Africa based out of Durban, South Africa.

Debora’s passion for food serves as a unique perspective through which she delves into different cultures and values, recognizing its vital role in bringing people together. Her contagious energy is infectious and a driving force behind positive transformations. She champions Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, both within the workplace and in the scope of marketing communications. Additionally, she passionately advocates for the fight against Food Waste, making a significant impact in this crucial work.
Debora is married and has three children.
