After studying Business Administration at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (Financial Management), Pieter started his career in 2000 at ABN AMRO as management trainee Markets. His first role was in Credit Trading. In 2004 he moved to London where he fulfilled different managerial roles on the trading floors of ABN AMRO and The Royal bank of Scotland. In 2010 Pieter became Managing Director and Global Head of Investor Product Structuring at RBS. After returning to the Netherlands, Pieter joined De Nederlandsche Bank in 2016 as head of department Banking Supervision. In 2018 Pieter became responsible for the supervision of National Institutions, which include banks, payment institutions and investment firms. Since April 2024 is Pieter Director of Financial Markets, responsible for Asset Management, Risk Management, Monetary Operations, Investment Operations and Markets Intelligence at DNB.
