Marije Hulshof has been CEO of international engineering and consultancy firm Haskoning since 2023. With academic degrees in Human Geography and Business Administration, she brings a broad and diverse background to the role.
Marije began her career as a Policy Researcher and Management Consultant, spending 14 years in various roles, including at the Berenschot Group. In 2006, she transitioned to the public sector, joining the Ministry of Economic Affairs. There, she served as Director of the Netherlands Consumer Authority and later led the Netherlands Trade and Investment Agency.
In 2012, Marije joined Haskoning’s Executive Council as Global Director Industry & Buildings. Her strategic leadership played a key role in expanding the company’s services in industry, renewable energy, buildings, and data centres. She was appointed Chief Operations Officer in July 2022, paving the way for her current role as CEO.
Today, Marije continues to drive Haskoning’s strategic direction with dedication and vision, supporting its mission to Enhance Society Together.
There are many bridges within Haskoning, between business teams, countries ánd generations. For me our Young Professional Network is one way to secure bridges are built. Our YPN is established throughout the global organization. They have their own Board, that regularly meets with the CEO and organize their own Happiness Survey, network events and festive yearly activities and workshops. YPN provides feedback to me on all issues they feel require attention – a great means to welcome young people in our organization and build the bridge between current and future leadership of the organization.
