INNOPAY is a consultancy firm specialised in digital innovation. With our roots in payment innovation (e.g. co-creating iDEAL), we are experts in the domains of payments, digital identity and data sharing

WE ARE INNOPAY, a consultancy firm specialised in digital innovation since 2002. With our roots in payment innovation (e.g. co-creating iDEAL), we have gone from strength to strength into the domains of digital identity and data sharing. Today, our services cover the entire strategic, product development and operational spectrum of our client’s business. We work with them on their (new) business models, the technology they deploy, and the way they respond to local and international regulations.

We do this by delivering strategy, product development and strategy execution in the domain of Digital Identity, Data Sharing, and Payments. Our services capture the entire strategic and operational spectrum of our client’s business, the technology they deploy, and the way they respond to local and international regulations.

We have gone from strength to strength since our foundation in 2003 and operate from our offices in Amsterdam and Frankfurt. Our head office is located in The Netherlands, where we have the #1 market position.
We are a founding member of Holland FinTech, a financial technology hub with links to the rest of Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia. Our team consists of over 50 experienced domain experts who regularly advise a wide range of global organisations.

At INNOPAY, we help you to develop the right skills and knowledge to become an industry expert in digital innovation on the subjects of Data Sharing, Digital Identity and Payments. Not only by giving you broad experience with international clients and projects, but also through monthly company-wide knowledge sessions, training and personal and peer group coaching. In addition, you have the opportunity to work on new ideas and proposals in our internal innovation teams.

Technology has dramatically changed the way we live and share information and how we do business. Organisations increasingly use technology to engage with clients, partners and stakeholders. Through continuous conversation, co-creation and two-way value exchange, organisations create new strategic advantages.

As the digital transformation is accelerating, every interaction is becoming a transaction and new kinds of value – such as personal data, (access) rights, obligations, attention and reputation – form the basis of new business models.

We believe that only with trust – full confidence and conviction that the system will work reliably, truthfully and safely – it will be possible to reap the full potential of the digital transactions era.

That’s why we are committed to creating a world in which all people and organisations trust and use digital transactions. Our mission is to guide organisations worldwide to fully embrace the opportunities of the digital transactions era.

What are your sustainable initiatives?

As a company INNOPAY’s sustainability policy is mainly focused on sustainable travel. This results in:

  • All employees are provided with an NS business card (instead of providing them with a car), which can be used for private travel too, to encourage employees to use public transport instead of taking the car
  • Trains are the preferred travel option for all destinations within Europe that can be reached in less than five hours

Next to that, our pension is invested in a fund that is fully focused on investing in sustainability (

Within our projects we work on sustainability by supporting initiatives that work on or contribute to increased sustainability:

  • In the Data Sharing Coalition ( we work on use cases that help to create a more sustainable future. An example is the green loans use case: In this use case, the consumer will be enabled to use their energy data to receive support with making their house more sustainable. This support can range from sustainability advice to a favourable “Green Loan” for investments in energy saving measures (e.g. heat pumps or solar cells).
  • In the development of the Digitaal Stelsel Gebouwde Omgeving ( we help the construction sector to digitise. This helps the sector to reduce their nitrogen emissions and can help to re-use valuable and scarce resources in buildings in the future
  • We help to develop a new payment method (OVpay) for the Dutch public transport to improve accessibility and ease of use of the Dutch public transport system (
  • Head office Amsterdam, NL
