There are plenty of social challenges in areas like healthcare, sustainability, mobility, safety, and income. And besides being there for people when it really matters, we at Achmea believe we also have a role in solving these issues. That’s why we work daily with 14,000 colleagues on solutions for these societal challenges.
A concrete example is WegWijsVR. An innovation from our brand Interpolis. A few bright minds noticed that the number of traffic accidents among young people was increasing. A partner of Interpolis inspired the Smart Solutions Team at Interpolis to use VR. The result? A VR solution with an educational traffic package used in primary schools across the Netherlands. The goal? To help over 250,000 children navigate traffic more safely. That’s what we call impact.

We are committed to achieving climate-neutral operations by 2030, a climate-neutral investment portfolio by 2040, and a climate-neutral insurance portfolio by 2050 at the latest. In our social role, we also focus on the social aspects of sustainability. An example of this is the €2,500 (net) that employees receive to contribute to sustainability efforts. This could include making your home more energy-efficient or purchasing an electric bike, thereby contributing to environmental improvement!

In these 15 minute meetings you get to elaborate on your interests, skills and motivation and see if they fit with specific vacancies the company has to offer.
