Marcel de Nooijer (1968), has been CEO of Transavia since January 2020. Before joining Transavia, De Nooijer was Executive Vice President at Air France-KLM Cargo and Managing Director at Martinair and member of the Group Executive Committee.

De Nooijer has a strong academic background with a master’s degree in Geology from Universiteit Utrecht and in Business Administration from Erasmus Universiteit in Rotterdam. His career in the transportation sector spans more than 29 years, during which he has held various commercial and operational positions. He has extensive experience in the aviation sector, covering both cargo, maintenance and passenger business, and has distinguished himself in strategic business planning, business turnarounds, and change management

At Transavia, Marcel de Nooijer took the initiative to transition from a Boeing towards an Airbus fleet in the coming 7 years. His leadership has been characterized by a focus on building leadership development, innovation, customer orientation, and keeping flying accessible for Transavia’s customers. Under his guidance, Transavia continues to commit to sustainable and efficient aviation solutions.
