Who or what provided your possibilities?

When I was 14, an electrical engineering teacher looked at me and said, “I believe in you,” and those four words became the port that carried me through my entire career. That belief taught me something powerful, that once someone hands you their confidence, you eventually learn to hold it yourself. I have spent my career leaning into being the first, sitting at tables where few women sat before me and building spaces where more of us could sit together. That journey became the chapter “Be the First” in “Women Making a Difference,” and it captures the possibility I try to open for other women every day. So my port of possibilities is simple: someone believed in me first, and now I make it my life’s work to tell others, “I believe in you,” too.
