You don’t grow despite the difficult periods; you grow because of them.
Joost Kamermans is the co-founder and CEO of Seenons, a European technology company on a mission to create a world without waste. After studying International Business Administration and Finance & Investments at Rotterdam School of Management, Joost started his career as a strategy consultant at BCG. In 2019, he co-founded Seenons to tackle one of society’s most complex and overlooked challenges: making the waste system more efficient, circular and sustainable. Since then, Seenons has expanded across Europe, connecting organizations throughout the waste value chain through technology. Joost is also no stranger to Student Management Week: before returning as a speaker, he was an SMW organiser himself.
Who or what provided your possibilities?
Rotterdam. It is where I studied, met ambitious people with very different perspectives, and started shaping my view of entrepreneurship and leadership. RSM gave me both the opportunities and the network that eventually helped set me on the path from consulting to building Seenons. Coming back to SMW therefore feels a bit like returning to the port where the journey started.
